Mom’s Trying To Starve Me!

August 28, 2011

moms-trying-to-starve-me

Okay I lied.  She isn’t starving me, but for a minute I saw the empty Purina bag and thought I would wither away to nothing.  Daddy saved the day when he went to the closet and pulled out another huge bag full of my favorite noms!

Mommy stocked up on dog food when it was on sale a few weeks ago.  She came home with four big bags of Purina because it was on sale for $8.99 AND she had $2 off coupons.  She got Alley a bag of cat food, too, and it’s so big it’ll probably take him all year to get through it!  I’m glad Mommy stocked up because I heard her say there isn’t much money this week to buy stuff, and I need food or I’ll starve to death.

Mommy’s job just doesn’t make enough right now to support us all, and Daddy still hasn’t been able to find a new job.  He did some work for a few friends, but that money is running out, too.  I’m so sad because if they can’t buy food for me they can’t buy food for lil sister either.  She can’t starve!  Maybe Daddy should go back to school to be a Dental Tech.  I saw a bunch of Dental Technician Jobs in the paper this morning when I was doing my job of holding it down on the floor while Mommy clipped coupons from the inserts. Hey maybe I can get a job doing that! Anybody need me to lie on the floor and hold their paper down? I’m good at it?

Learning Everyday

August 25, 2011

learning-everyday

I may be a super smart kitteh, but I just realized I learn something new everyday. Just today I learned don’t try to steal a piece of cheese from lil sister’s plate. She growled at me! I think she’s been spending too much time with Bubba!

Yesterday I went for a visit to Gramma’s and I learned that Gramma & PopPop’s hjc helmets are way more comfortable to sleep in than Mom’s Shoei RF-1000 helmet. I think it’s because Mom has a small head and tiny helmet, so I have more room to curl up in Grammas. Dad won’t let me even think about getting near his, but I bet it would be super comfortable, too.

I wonder what I’ll learn tomorrow.  I like learning stuff, especially when it gives me a new spot to sleep and hide from lil sister!

Surprise Findings

August 16, 2011

surprise-findings

Some days are just awesome, and today is one of those.  Some days a surprise is just waiting to be found, and that was also today.  It all started when Mommy lost the remote. She started by searching under the couch.  Mommy found a couple of old brokensamsung cell phones that little sister plays with, but no remote. She was searching under the couch cushions when she felt something big.  She pulled it out, and I couldn’t believe my eyes.

She found the biggest doggy bone I’ve ever seen!  It didn’t belong to me, but finders keepers.  See, we got some “new to us” couches a few weeks ago.  They used to belong to Daddy’s aunt, and she didn’t need them anymore.  Her doggies liked to lay on them because they were cold leather in the Summer, and she told Mommy and Daddy that the doggies liked to hide their bones in them.  Well, no one found this one, and it made the move to our house with the couches.  I doubt her doggies will even miss it, and even if they do I’m not giving it back!

Oh, and the remote is still lost. Oh well. At least I got a bone!

Watch Out For The Deer!

August 7, 2011

watch-out-for-the-deer

Uh oh.  It looks like someone isn’t having a good night.

I had to pee really badly, so Daddy took me outside to do my business.  When we walked out the door we saw a truck sitting in the curve right above the house with it’s lights blinking.  Daddy told me I had to wait a minute, and we went back inside to get Mommy.  Mommy came outside to walk me to my potty spot while Daddy went to check out the truck.

Deer CrossingDaddy finally came back to the house about 20 minutes later and he said the people hit a deer.  The deer hit so hard it landed on the hood of the truck and died instantly.  Daddy said the windshield is busted, one headlight is missing, there’s a lot of other damage on the front, and the truck won’t start either. Good thing the flashers work! Uh oh.  I hope those people have emergency roadside assistance and a cheap deductible because this looks like it’s going to be an expensive mess for them!

Daddy helped them push the truck up into Mommy’s cousin’s driveway that a few feet away from where they hit the deer so they could get the truck out of the road. We don’t need someone else flying around that curve and hitting a truck in the road! He stayed with them until the cop got there, and then he came home to tell us what happened.

We have a bad problem with people flying down our road, and we have an even bigger problem with deer. They like to cross into our yard to eat the pears, plums, and apples from our trees. Plus there’s a creek behind our house. There have been lots of wrecks caused by deer here in the last few years. Mommy has called a bunch of times to see if we could get one of those watch for deer crossing signs put on the side of the road, but nobody ever listens. I hope she tries to call again! Maybe this time they’ll listen!

Need That Ball Now!

need-that-ball-now

Bubba is such a doofus, but sometimes that creates hours of entertainment for me to watch!  Mom, Dad, and Little Sister were gone most of the evening, so I had plenty of time to be lazy watching Bubba be stupid.

Little Sister has a beach ball that rolled under her bed and got stuck.  Well Bubba spotted it under the bed, and thanks to his ball obsession he decided he needed to have it.  The only problem is the bed had metal casters on it, and he couldn’t get the ball around the leg. He’d push it to the left with his nose, and it’d get stuck between the leg and the low side of the bed frame. He’d run around to the other side and push it towards the front of the bed. That side of the bed is higher, but he couldn’t figure out how to maneuver the ball away from the leg of the bed. Needless to say he spent hours running back and forth from one side of the bed to the other until Mom came home and rescued the ball.  It was quite amusing to watch!
